ABC's of Faith

We’ve all struggled with our faith at one moment or another.  Perhaps, we’ve neglected to spend time with the Lord, or our faith has been shaken over a particular issue. Maybe we’ve struggled in an area of our life and haven’t asked for forgiveness.  Whatever the case, if we follow the ABC’s of faith, we are able to stay on track with our spiritual walk.

  1. Abide: John 15:7 says “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” We have to spend time in the word and in prayer.  As we meditate and let the word sink into our hearts, our faith is able to grow.

  1. Believe: Isaiah 43:10 says “You are my witnesses, declares the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me.” The Lord is our source and our strength.  We have to believe in him and rest in the assurance that he will guide us and help us.

  1. Confess:  Romans 10:9-10 says “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” There may be times where we will act, think or say things that aren’t pleasing to God but if we confess our sins and repent, He is merciful to forgive us.

As we abide in the word and grow in our relationship with God, our belief in Him grows and we mature spiritually.  Will you practice your ABC’s today?
