Amazing Grace

Have you ever listened and actually paid close attention to the lyrics of the song “Amazing Grace” by John Newton? I challenge you to do so.  Webster’s Dictionary defines grace as the exercise of love, kindness, mercy, favor, disposition to benefit or serve another; favor bestowed or privilege conferred.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

The Lord expressed the love He has for us and saves our life.  We might have been lost or been in the worst shape ever, but through His mercy we were cleaned.
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through His ‘Amazing Grace’ we learn to fear Him, not in terror, but as our all mighty father.  Always paying respect to Him, as He so much deserves.  Your worldly fears go away because He has shed you from the burden of your past once you started believing.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.

We have gone through and keep going through trials and many tribulations, but His kindness has kept us safe and will always bring us back home, back to His thrown, to pay him respects for the new life we have become.

The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

The Lord promised so much to us when He died on the cross for our sins.  His word is our shield that helps us keep seeking hope and having faith in Him.  He has given us eternal life and we are in debt to keep on living through his Amazing Grace.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

And when that day comes and the Lord calls for us,  we will be blessed meet Him and be in His presence we will live a lovely life of peace.  We will no longer have to feel, see or endure the worldly troubles because the Lord has made a beautiful and pure home for us.

When we've been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun.

As we live with our Heavenly Father is will be forever lasting…there will be no time, hours, days, months, and years, we will have the abundance of shinning as bright as the sun, singing and praising in peace, as when we first met Him through His Amazing Grace.
