Cast Your Cares

I was listening to the song “Praise You in This Storm” by Casting Crowns.  Great song by the way! Anyhow, the song begins with these words “I was sure by now that you would have reached down and wiped our tears away, stepped in and saved the day but once again, I say, Amen, and it’s still raining.”  Have you ever felt that way?  Ever feel that you’re at the end of your rope? Have you ever found yourself telling God that he’d better do something in your situation because you’ve had enough? I think we’ve all had those moments.

The way to overcome these difficult moments is by casting your cares onto the Lord.  We want to control everything and attempt to handle all matters with our own strength.  Yet the word tells us that the Lord is our strength.  We need him in order to overcome all of the obstacles that come against us.  “Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall” (Psalm 55:22). Don’t spend your energy attempting to figure things out on your own.  Spend your energy praising the Lord and he will guide you through the situation.

So in the words of Casting Crowns…
“I’ll praise you in this storm and I will lift my hands.  For you are who you are no matter where I am.  Every tear I’ve cried, you hold in your hand.  You never left my side and though my heart is torn, I will praise you in this storm”.
