What place does God have in your life? Is he your first thought when you awake?
Perhaps he’s your first thought when you are in trouble or maybe he is far from
your thoughts. Isaiah 55:6 says, “Seek
the Lord while He may be found, call upon him while he is near.” Our relationship with our spiritual Father
has to be our top priority.
Ever notice that when we stop spending time with the Lord;
maybe we aren’t reading the bible as much or praying as much, that our life
goes off balance? We begin to feel the pressures of life as we attempt to
control everything through our own strength. The problem is that we aren’t
meant to figure things out through our own strength. We are created to honor and serve the Lord. It is our reliance and faith in him that
gives us victory; not our self-will. The word says “I can do all things through
Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
The operative words are ‘through Christ’ not through ourselves, or any
other method.
I challenge you to analyze your life and ensure that God is
your priority. “But seek first the
kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to
you” (Matthew 6:33). If you find that your priorities have gotten out of order,
then reprioritize. Let’s make sure that
we are spending time with the Lord, seeking his will for our life and living in
obedience to his word. Everything else
will fall into place so long as we honor the only one who is worthy of honor-
our Lord Jesus Christ!
